Byrd is a Senior Associate at the firm. He obtained a Bachelor of Laws from Makerere University, Uganda, and a Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre, Uganda.

He is a member of the East Africa Law Society and the Uganda Law Society.

He specialises in litigation, representing clients in general and commercial matters. He also handles clients’ matters involving tort, electricity, labor and construction disputes. He provides corporate governance services to a number of clients. He has acted for a major coffee producing company in a case involving misappropriation of funds amounting to close to US$1.5 million. Additionally he has acted for a client in a matter involving cybercrime where close to US$60,000 was transferred to a bank in China on the instructions of a supplier of coffee to our client.

His working experience, both administrative and legal, spans over 36 years working for institutions such as Uganda Development Bank as a Legal Officer, Produce Marketing Board as Deputy Board Secretary and Civil Aviation Authority of Uganda as Manager, Administration and Supplies.

He acts as company secretary for a number of local and international clients.

Byrd is a Notary Public and a Commissioner for oaths.
