Nicholas is a Partner at the firm. He obtained a Bachelor of Laws from Makerere University, Uganda, and a Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre, Uganda.
He is a member of the East Africa Law Society, the Uganda Law Society and the Uganda Christian Lawyers Fraternity.
He specialises in dispute resolution and arbitration and property conveyancing. He handles commercial litigation, insolvency, debt recovery and alternative disputes resolution. His litigation experience is mainly in banking, corporate matters and land matters.
He was seconded to Orient Bank Limited, one of Uganda’s leading indigenous financial institutions as a head of the legal department on a short contract. He has worked on a number of assignments and regularly appears in the courts handling complex legal matters. He successfully acted for and advised on a complex matter in the Supreme Court of Uganda involving a US$4 million claim by various petroleum companies from Uganda Revenue Authority. He has also successfully defended a client in a US$38m land dispute and is presently part of the team representing the same client in a US$41m claim in the Commercial Court of Uganda. Nicholas is also representing a client in the Constitutional Court in respect of a $48m claim.
Nicholas has been invited to facilitate trainings in Litigation under the National Bar Association.
He is also a Board Secretary to a number of clients under SM Registrars, the corporate secretarial and governance section of the firm.
Nicholas is a registered Insolvency Practitioner in Uganda, a Notary Public and a Commissioner for oaths.
