Ishmael is an Associate at the firm. He obtained a Bachelor of Laws from Uganda Christian University, Mukono Uganda, and a Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre, Uganda.
He is a qualified advocate and a member of the East Africa Law Society and the Uganda Law Society.
His specialises in energy and infrastructure law. His practice includes regulatory frameworks and compliance, public private partnerships, due diligences, land acquisitions, licensing, project finance, minimisation of the legal risk and where necessary represents the clients in arbitration and litigation. His experience working with multinationals in the energy sector includes reviewing agreements, advising clients on regulatory compliance, and conducting due diligence and power purchase agreement negotiations in the energy sector
He has worked as an in-house counsel which role equipped him with a practical skillset to anticipate potential legal risk to clients in labour relationships, protection of intellectual property and immigration matters.
