Janet is an Associate at the firm. She obtained a Bachelor of Laws from Uganda Christian University, Mukono, Uganda, and a Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre, Uganda.
She is a member of the East Africa Law Society and the Uganda Law Society.
She specializes in banking and finance. Her expertise includes advising both local and international commercial banks as well as financial institutions in all matters including drawing and execution of lending and securities documents; local banking compliance rules and regulations; bank-customer regulations and registration of securities at respective registries. She has advised the Central Bank of Uganda on the legality of its directive to have the Financial Card System and CRB managed by separate legal entities. Janet equally advises on employment and industrial relations law and has advised different companies on various aspects of labor law, including advising on employment contracts and obligations, employer-employee disputes, industrial disputes, pension funds, redundancies & restructuring, trade unions and workmen’s compensation.
